Tips from the Community Lead Deputies To Arrest Man for Petty Theft and Criminal Threats

On a bustling Saturday afternoon, authorities in Rancho Cucamonga were dispatched to a disturbance at a local business, prompted by a report of a man causing property damage and issuing threats. By the time deputies reached the scene on Foothill Blvd and Town Center Dr, the man had absconded, but his intimidations persisted through phone calls shortly thereafter.

Following a thorough search, the individual, later identified as Dominick Louie Rivera, was found nearby. Investigations revealed that after using the business’s facilities, Rivera had attempted to pilfer items, leading to a confrontation with the staff.

Subsequently, Rivera was taken into custody and charged with petty theft and issuing criminal threats. He is now being held at the West Valley Detention Center. In the wake of this incident, the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department expressed gratitude to the vigilant citizens whose reports were instrumental in Rivera’s arrest.

The department has called for any additional insights into the case, inviting community members to share information. Those wishing to offer tips while preserving their anonymity are encouraged to contact the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463) or go to www.wetip.com.

Man Arrested After Starting a Dumpster Fire at a Rancho Cucamonga Train Station

In the pre-dawn hours of November 6, 2023, authorities in Rancho Cucamonga were summoned to the Metrolink Station on Azusa Street to address a reported dumpster fire. A witness, monitoring the location via live video feed, observed an individual igniting the blaze.

Upon arrival, deputies, in collaboration with the local fire department, successfully subdued the flames. An inquiry into the incident revealed that the suspect, ostensibly awaiting transportation, had started the fire for warmth. The individual, Duran, was apprehended and subsequently detained at the West Valley Detention Center on charges of arson.

The Rancho Cucamonga Police Department is seeking additional information from the public concerning this event. They encourage anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward and contact the police directly, or to provide anonymous tips through the We-Tip Hotline or their website.
